What is the purpose of buying xbox, playstations or wii when you can play same games at your computer ?

You can play all games on your computer. If you tired of key board or mouse then you can add joystick or joy wheel in it and have fun. But today every body got gaga over these techno gadget. I think this is era of consumerism and we are all puppet of these company which not only drain our pockets but making us money donour towards them.

1. most people buy them becase of the great graphics or easy controls. Not selling the computer short either, but people always connect gaming systems soley with gaming and computers more with academic/ work purposes.
2. I don't even bother buying PC games anymore when I can have fun for free online. As for Xbox etc. I wouldn't waste my money.
3. some games entered market earlier in other consoles eg halo 1,2,3 were introduced to xbox 360 earlier than pc.another reason is some people loves to play anywhere they want so they prefer portable consoles like psp and nds
4. If you think about it, in order to get a good computer that is able to handle playing all of these games smoothly, you're going to have to spend about 1 grand to any around 3 or 4 grand. An xbox 360 costs $399 for the top model (i think). Therefore it is cheaper than buying a computer. Plus you dont have to worry about viruses or crashes or anything like that.
