  1. The Mark VIII for sure. It has much better performance, better styling and a much better road presence. It's technology is more advanced save the holographic dash in the 2002 Continental, and they are more reliable.
  2. stay away for the continentals - they are bad news - from wiring to air shocks. good luck and enjoy
  3. Go with the mark the continental is just a glorified taurus with loads of problems plus the mark looks better and is plenty powerful
  4. Lets just say the Mark viii has a 280 horsepower 4.6l dohc 32 valve , which is the design used in the cobra, the mustang gts have a 2 cam sohc, Mark VIII was ahead of its time, people mistake my 1993 for a 2000! stock it will run 15.2 or even faster .
  5. Oh, 1000 times more, buy the Mark. A Continential is just a chrome-plated Ford Taurus. The Mark is a real vehicle.
  6. If you live in a area where winters are long and hard you don't want a Mark VIII unless you can have two cars one for summer and one for winter. Other wise the Mark is all you need it has gadgets the same ones that the Continental. The Mark has it all I have owned them both and the Mark was better in every way except getting around in the snow.
  7. People are saying the mark, but they both had considerable issues. both cars have full air suspension, with the frnt struts integrated with the bags in the front. this can be a pain if they havnet been replaced yet. both cars have the same motor, but the continential had transmission troubles, thy used a weak transmission on this car. the mark VIII is a nightmare to work on. very little space under the hood. the headlights on the mark VIII were a major design flaw, the silver lining would flake off and you would have no light when you needed it. I have had both 95 conti and a 95 VIII and liked both cars, both quick. I was actually fond of the features of the 95 conti becaue you could adjust the ride firmness and the steering effort. The VIII also had the steering effort to a degree as well, but it worked automatically. also on the VIII the car would drop 3" or so when you went over 60MPH for better ride control. Good Luck!
  8. Definitely the Mark. The continental was plagued with electrical problems. The Mark is a luxurious and fast (esp the LSC) vehicle and its styling cues don't look as antiquated as the Continental. As for options, the Mark will have all the gadgets that you'll find on the Continental and more and it want bob like a boat because of the tighter suspension. Lastly, there are still a good number of Marks on the market and its easy to get used parts and service.
