why are boys crazy about gadgets and technology?

im not saying girls aren't but a typical teenage boy will give more importance to technology around him and the latest gadgets. sometimes, it goes to such a distance that things become more important than people. why is this? is this proven. ive also seen an article title quoting 'men love things, while women love people''.

It must be in their blood or something I have two boys one coming twelve and one coming nine and when they are at school the teacher usually ends up asking them for help to wire up the dvd player or tune in the channel or help on the computer and even when I bought my husband and Archos mp4 player my son had to wire it all up for as the instructions just looked like double dutch to me.
