A question for people who have gone to Burning Man, how can it cost so much to participate in a gift economy? OK, I have not ever been to a Burning Man Festival, though I have looked at the information and thought it sounded cool. However, I have a real hang up about it costing up to $350. If BM is truely trying to create a "gift economy," shouldn't it start at the gate? Is there really that much cost to hold this out in the middle of the desert? If only 10,000 people showed up and each paid only $250 to attend, the event would rake in $2,500,000 and yet the event draws many times that number of people, most of whom pay more than $250. Where does this money go? Rainbow Family Gatherings are another example of a gift economy, yet it costs nothing to attend and all of the food is free. Could people please share their experiences, opinions, and/or knowledge with me about why BM festival is so darned expensive? Every recipe I have tried since so far have hardened after cooling the cookies. What to get a man who has everything? I'm trying to come up with something unique for our wedding officiant who is the owner of the company I work for. Oh Please Help Me Men!! What Christmas gift should I get my husband? I don't want typical chick ideas. I want to get him cool toys that MEN like. He already has most of his toys. What does it mean when a person personifies or associates personalities to letters or numbers? As far back as I can remember I have associated personality traits to letters and numbers. As when you meet people and develop relationships with them you come to know them to be a certain way, I do the same thing with letters and numbers. It's like this, when I see the letter "K", I think quiet and feminine. "7" is a cool masculine teenager or tweenager. "13" is a strong and older heavy set man. Capital "G" is a strong older female that smokes and lower case "g" is mean and rude. I'm not crazy or anything. At least I don't think so. I'm a gifted law student with a relatively high IQ (141). I've always made associations with everything which can probably account for my excellent memory. But personifying characters is something I can't explain. I used to think everyone did this but when I mentioned this to friends and family they didn't get it. I stopped talking about it years ago. Now I want to know if anyone else does this. Any input would put my peculiar mind at ease. I'm not here to brag about my IQ. It's not a personal opinion of mine that my IQ is high either. I know people with higher IQs (not that I ask) and they are very highly regarded in their respective fields. IQ doesn't say anything about ones success or the lack there of, in my opinion. It simply gives insight regarding ones level of knowledge, how they process information and their ability to gain, retain and recall information and the rate at which they do so. Anyone who would ignore the question and focus on such a minor detail for the purpose of insulting the questioner must not be happy with their own IQ. Just a guess.

Why do men in 4 x 4 trucks think they are so cool? I live in Alaska and I can see why there are 10 men for every women up here. For one thing men up here think they are so cool in their 4 x 4 trucks and they love to splash women with mud during break-up time. Today I was minding my own business and about 4 of them in a brand new truck almost run me over. What's with these fools who move to Alaska and think they are God's gift to you know what? Ex-Best Friend Jealous of me? On Before Christmas Day. I have this Best Friend. Well, She is not Just a friend. She is My Ex- Best-Friend. We was Back Friends after Thanksgiving. but, Now Me and her is no longer friends anymore. She is my worst enemy. She told me my boyfriend don't give a damn about me and she told me i need to dump him. she said that i need to find a new boyfriend. i got mad and piss off then i block her and i left her a message then block her. I told my boyfriend everything she have told me then, he got kinda piss with my ex-best friend. My boyfriend have dog her out bad so i told her everything . i don't know she mad or not. Christians: Can Heaven Become an Idol? If Heaven is the only reason some people stay with Christ, would that make Heaven more valuable than Christ to that Christian? If something is more valuable to a believer than Christ...wouldn't this be an idol? I have seen so many Christians walking and living their lives without fully understanding the difference between the benefits and the benefactor...we want all the cool gifts so that we can make a show before others or we want to make it to heaven so we follow all sorts of legalities rather than fully comprehending the depth of love and devotion we should have forJesus. 1 Corinthians 13 points this out well when we realize that there is only one quality about man that will last into eternity ......love., unconditional love. Does this mean then that we are called to follow Christ irrespective of what He affords us? My point is that it is high time that we take our hearts off Heaven and put it on Jesus Christ because there is no Heaven without Him...What are your thoughts on this? Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. What is that you are truly in love with Jesus Christ or the idea of being in Heaven? I believe that every Christian should really search their hearts and souls about this.
