A friend from work is getting married in early September. How early is too early to send the wedding gift? I am going to the wedding with my boyfriend. When I attend a wedding I give $50 if it's a buffet, per person, $100 to $150 if it's a sit down dinner. I either give cash or items off of the registry. This time, I want to give items off of the registry and, with what I want to spend, I could buy everything off of their registry for the bathroom. Towels, shower curtain, soap dispensers, etc. I think it would be cool to have bought the whole rooms worth of stuff! Anyway, I also like to buy registry items from the appropriate registry website, then have it shipped to the couples home, so that they don't have to lug it around on the wedding day. How early is too early to send the wedding gift? I don't want other people to buy the items that I want to buy, but I also don't want the gift to be forgotten by the wedding day. Can I send the gifts now or should I wait until closer to the date? Thanks! I base what I give on the dinner as I don't want my date and I to be an expense to the couple, when they have so many expenses already. I like to "Pay that back" somehow. I want to enjoy the day WITH them, not be an expense. Certainly if they are really close friends or family, I spend more! : ) Yes, I've received an invitation and already RSVP'd. If a buffet costs more then I don't know why people do it, because it does not come across as costing more at all, in my opinion!

Cool groomsman gifts? I need ideas for my brothers gifts for being my guys in my wedding. I'm definitely not doing any of the lame cliches like an engraved flask or cuff links because I want to give gifts that are either practical or a ton of fun. How do you hang masks? My husband and I have these really cool masks from Africa, they were a wedding gift. There is nothing on them to help with mounting them. We are afraid we will split the wood if we try to nail something on them. What would be the best way to hang them from a wall then?

Does a bridesmaid have to give the bride a card at the wedding? I was a bridesmaid in a wedding, one of 7. The woman who got married.. had everything very close together. She had her batchorette party, and 3 showers all in the course of 2 weeks. Then the next weekend was her birthday party, and the weekend after that was the rehersal dinner and the wedding. I helped chip in 50 bucks for the bachlorette party, bought her 3 nice gifts for all the showers, gave her another cool gift for her birthday (150 bucks) and I bought the wine for the actual wedding ceremony. She stopped talking to me simply because I didn't give her a card with 20 bucks in it the next day at the present opening. She said I had to because I was a bridesmaid and had to give her well wishes. Do you think she's being a bit greedy? Oh.. I didn't even know about the present opening until the wedding night that I was required to attend!

Tangible bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts? I've been reading other questions about groomsmen gifts and I have gotten giddy hearing thinkgeek.com mentioned because that's where my fiance works - and it really is a great place to get gifts - from traditional (flasks, beer steins, multi-tools, etc.) to more fun things (r/c R2D2, marshmallow shooters, toys, caffeine, and t-shirts). But my "problem" is that my fiance's groomsmen all work there, too - so we can't really get their gifts there. So what do you get people who already have every cool thing I can think of at work to play with, or can buy it themselves at a discount if they wanted it. So, do you think it would be just as nice to get our wedding party gifts that are not tangible? Maybe treating them to a day at an amusement park or the renaissance faire or something? How can we find a match to a set of crystal goblets (late 90s, probably inexpensive, but a bit unusual)? These were a wedding gift (set of 4). They're not likely to be very expensive, and yet we've never seen them anywhere, and we get many compliments. No name etched on them or anything. What's different about them is the "neck" of the stem is very thick, i.e. the base, which is heavy, doesn't curve in-&-out too sharply as it rises toward the cup. Long story short I can't find any of the information I wrote down about it. If someone can help me figure out the website I would really appreciate it. It started out w. asking you questions of how you two met, how he popped the question, wedding song, what your day was like, what you look like etc. The information is taken and your first year of marriage is drawn w. cartoon characters featured in front of 'buildings'.
